The road to writing

Before fiction

For more than three decades I worked across personal computing, information technology, telecommunications and business leadership, solving problems, leading teams and delivering technology in industries that never stood still.

The turning point

When ill health brought my corporate career to an earlier close than expected, it also gave me something that had been in short supply for years: time.

Time to write.

What began as an idea for a political thriller quickly became something much bigger. Today I spend my time creating stories that explore power, surveillance, memory and the increasingly blurred relationship between people and technology. My debut novel, Alex 24, is the first of those stories, with The Right Honourable Bastard (TRHB) already following close behind.

Writing is only part of the journey. I’ve always been curious about how things work and how they can be improved. That curiosity now extends beyond the page. Alongside writing, I use artificial intelligence, photography, design and web technologies to build immersive worlds around my books. From interactive reader experiences and cinematic artwork to fictional government departments that exist beyond the story itself, I enjoy creating experiences that begin long before the first page and continue long after the last.

Everything you see on this website is part of that creative process.

A NOTE FROM GRANT

Whether you’ve arrived to discover my books, follow the journey, or simply see what happens when storytelling meets technology, welcome.

This is only the beginning.
