Alex 24 is out now
My debut novel, Alex 24, is now published. Here is what the book is, where you can read it and why its story continues beyond the final page.

Alex 24 was published on 2 August 2026 and is available as a Kindle ebook, including through Kindle Unlimited. It is my debut novel and the first complete story to emerge from a much larger period of writing, designing and world-building.
The book began as a political thriller. As I wrote, the questions became wider and more personal: what happens to identity when systems can infer more about us than we have chosen to disclose? What happens to human choice when prediction begins to shape the choices available? And how much control can become normal while daily life still feels familiar?
A speculative thriller about people and systems
Alex 24 explores artificial intelligence, surveillance, identity, prediction and control. Those themes supply the machinery of the novel, but the story remains centred on people: what they remember, whom they trust and what they do when the systems around them appear to know the future.
I have tried to keep its world close enough to our own to feel possible. The technology does not arrive as a distant robot uprising. It is useful, persuasive and woven into institutions and ordinary decisions. That proximity is where the tension lives.
Chapter Zero continues here
ReadAlex24.com is the official home of the book and an interactive extension of it. The fictional Internal Security Directorate presents the experience as Chapter Zero: you can read the complete Prologue without an account, then choose whether to create an Observer identity and explore released files.
The Observer Reading Programme also makes the first ten chapters available in personalised electronic releases. Further releases depend on completing the feedback questionnaires for what you have read. I am not looking for praise; I want open, honest and useful responses that can strengthen later revisions and future writing.
Thank you to every early reader and Observer who has already given the book their attention. Publishing is a milestone, but I do not see it as the point at which listening stops.
Read the story behind the questions.
Alex 24 is available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. You can also read the complete Prologue here for free.
